Context dumps expose the compiler's task information without generating an implementation. The generation-budget example can be inspected directly:
$ llmc++ \
-fllm-dump-context \
examples/17_generation_limits.cpp
The example defines passing(const std::vector<int>&) with max_attempts(2) and timeout(120). The dump lets you inspect its interface, request, and effective settings before contacting a backend.
The option selects all annotated targets and stops without generation or normal compilation. A function-level dump_context setting selects individual targets.
Use this when an agent appears to misunderstand available parameters, return behavior, or captures. A dump shows the task environment; generated-source output shows the implementation eventually accepted. These answer different questions.
