# Source rewriting (llmcpp) **Source rewriting** replaces an annotated request with accepted C++ statements. In the tool-server fixture, a generated method starts as: ```cpp __llm__ void Account::deposit(int amount) { Add amount to cents. } ``` The matching mock script submits `cents += amount;`. The resulting method is ordinary C++: ```cpp void Account::deposit(int amount) { cents += amount; } ``` This simplified result omits generated metadata comments. The declaration remains, while the modifier and prose are replaced. Generation does not rewrite the class interface or add arbitrary includes. Use `llmc++ --llm` to inspect the full rewritten translation unit. That file can be reviewed and compiled conventionally, without interpreting a prompt when the function is called.
